Riptide Popup Alerts provides free components that allow your organization to notify users of critical information related to Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Leads, or Cases.
A simple field called "Alert Message" can be added to your Salesforce page layouts. To display the alert, simply add the Alert Message S-Control or appropriate Visualforce page to the layout where you want to display the message. Just set height to "0" when configuring and you're done. The control reads the alert messages for all related records and displays a single alert to the user when they view a record. The popup will only display on records that have an Alert Message or a related record with an Alert Message.
